SPRING CLEAN
Bring a touch of retro elegance to spring cleaning with Suzi Homemaker, a Perth label dedicated to the production of vintage inspired aprons. Not content with plain-old butchers� aprons to keep their clothes tidy while baking, cleaning and serving up martinis, Jade Hedges and Jaimee Blackman set about creating a collection of aprons that people actually want to wear.
When quizzed as to why she initially created the label, Hedges laughs, citing boredom as the catalyst for Suzi Homemaker. �To be totally honest, my friend and I worked at this company that was going bust and we had no work to do, none at all. We�d sit at our desk all day and go out for long lunches and one day, the idea came into my head in a moment of boredom.�
Instead of turning to Facebook like hoards of other bored office workers, Hedges and Blackman channeled their energy into Suzi Homemaker, creating a collection of unique garments to turn cleaning day from drab to divine.
With plans to release a series of aprons for men in coming months, and new stockists added frequently, Suzi Homemaker is stepping out of the kitchen, taking over the world one sexy apron at a time.
